RACE 19 - 29th Aug

On the last round of the North Road Cycling Club’s Ken Davis Salver, a windy night at Brickendon Green greeted the 26 riders, including 11 North Roaders collecting their last points for 2006. Despite a 2 minute 40 second late start, Dave Candy wrapped up the Salver with his 15th win of the season, just beating Simon Best by one second. Third place went to Hayden Groves, with a time of 24:57. Allan Mendelsohn rode his first event of the season after recovering from an operation. The overall winner was Peter Bissell with a time of 20:09.
 

RACE 18 - 22nd Aug

The penultimate round of North Road Cycling Club’s Ken Davis Salver, at Brickendon Green saw another win for Dave Candy. His time for the night was 22:18. Runner up spot went to Darren Rochford – who holds second spot in the series with 275 points he came past the time keeper in 22:42, taking 33 seconds out of Chris Symonds. Bruce Metheringham, still holds on to third position with 261 points,
followed by Chris who has 254 points. It was a good night for the Arctic Shorter Rochford pair, Peter Bissell and Michael Broadwith. Bissell just fell short by a few seconds to take the course record, he was forced to slow down when a horse box pulled out in front of him, he finished the night on 19:58. Broadwith finished with a time of 21:25.
 

RACE 17 - 15th Aug

Darren Rochford continued his form from Round 16 and took the maximum points in Round 17 of the Ken Davis Salver, with a time of 22:05, riding his best time of the year. He finished with a time of 22:05. Another good ride by Richard Somerset coming past the time keeper in 23:33, he was followed by Hayden Groves, riding his second event of the year, beating his previous time by two seconds, finishing in 24:11. Simon Best rode his best time for 2006. Chris Bullock and Peter Egan rode their first event for 2006. The overall winner was Mark Allen (Orange Monkey) in 22 minutes.
 

RACE 16 - 8th Aug

Thirty riders took part in North Road Cycling Club’s Brickendon Green “10” with 17 North roaders fighting for points in Round 16 of the Ken Davis Salver with Dave and Gemma Sperrin riding a two up. Hayden Groves, who has not raced for thee years took part, his last appearance in the Ken Davis Salver was in 1999. Dave Candy, who cannot be beaten for the 2006 Salver, was relegated to third place. Good performances from Darren Rochford and Richard Somerset. with times of 22:48 and 23:07 respectively. John Davy rode his best time for 2006. The winner of the night was Mark Allen (Orange Monkey) with a time of 21:54.
