ROUND 7 - KEN DAVIS SALVER “10" - BRICKENDON GREEN

In Round Seven of the North Road Cycling Club’s Ken Davis Salver at Brickendon Green, with the temperatures reaching 31º during the day, but cooling a bit for the start, it was a good night for racing. The event attracted 21 North Roaders and ten guest riders. It was a good night for Roger Bishop, riding his personal best, and taking the ten points, with a time of 22:55, taking 17 seconds out of second place Darren Rochford. Riding his best time of the year, Richard Somerset came past the timekeeper in 23:29. James McAleese, Trevor Burke and Nigel Cameron all broke their PB’s with times of 24:45, 25:50 and 26:42 respectively. Riding their best times of the year, were Chris Glithero, Bruce Metheringham, Don Hale and Marco Arnone. Alan Harvey unfortunately punctured at the bottom road and did not finish. The overall winner was John McMillan (Kenton RC), winner of the 1971 and 1972 Hardriders and the best veteran rider in the 2003 Hardriders. He has not lost his form, and stormed round the course in 22:23.
