DAVIS SALVER “10"

Twenty-eight
riders rode in the Brickendon Green “10”, 20 from the host club,
competing in round five of the Ken Davis Salver. Darren Rochford,
continued his good form, and took another ten points, finishing in 23:10.
It was very close for the next three positions, just five seconds the
riders. Roger was the runner up, coming past the timekeeper in 23:41. A
good ride by Richard Somerset, just two seconds away from Roger. Fourth
spot went to Dave Candy in a time of 23:46. Because of the puncture in
Round two for Darren he trails Roger by six points in the chase for the
Salver. Two personal bests were recorded: James McAleese and Trevor Burke
in 25:05 and 25:54 respectively. Sean Nikiel rode his first Brickendon
Green event. Allan Mendellson unfortunately punctured on the lower road to
Essendon at the viaduct at Hertford. The overall winner was Mark Allen
(Whitewebbs) for a hat trick of win
