DARREN TAKES THE FIRST 10
The
fear of heavy rain and storms held off. This did not scare twenty riders,
eleven from North Road, competing in Round 1 of the Ken Davis Salver. With
last year’s winner Bruce Robertson missing Darren Rochford stormed round
the circuit to take the first ten points of the season with a time of
23:00, taking 62 seconds out of second place Roger Bishop. Alizon
Hargreaves and Shena Lancaster rode their first event, and came past the
finishing line in 32:20 and 33:36 respectively. Nigel Cameron rode his
personal best with a time of 27:34. Andy Lancaster, punctured and finished
in 31:48 but still collected two points. The actual winner was Alastair
Brown (Tri London) in 21:17.
